Getting to Belvedere Palace by car

  • The Belvedere Palace is 3 km away from the city centre by car. 
  • No on-site parking facilities are available, however, public parking spots can be found nearby. The closest public parking spot is a minute away from the Lower Belvedere. 
  • Street parking is difficult to find around, as it is a busy area and in the short-term parking zone (parking only for certain hours in a day). 

Walking to Belvedere Palace

  • You can walk to the Belvedere Palace in Vienna from the city centre. Get on to the boulevard, known as the “Ring” and walk toward the Schwarzenbergplatz.
  • Once you pass the Red Army Monument, get onto the street called Rennweg, and walk 150m down the road to the Lower Belvedere entrance.
  • This entire journey would take you around 30 minutes. 

What are the best ways to get to Belvedere Palace?

  • Most convenient: Using any form of public transport is the best way to get to Belvedere, as it is well-connected. It is advisable to use the tram, as the closest station is right opposite the Belvedere entrance. Since the Belvedere is in the city, finding car parking around the museum gets challenging. The museum does not provide on-site parking. 
  • Sightseeing: Taking the bus or walking on foot would ensure you get the best sights Vienna has to offer.
